Sustainable Development Goal: Clean Water and Sanitation

Clean and accessible water for all is an essential point of the world that we wanted to live in and here is sufficient fresh water to achieve this. But due to bad economy level or poor infrastructure, millions of people die every year because of diseases that associated with inadequate water supply, sanitation, and higiene.
To improve sanitation and access to drinking water, there needs to be increased investment in management of fresh water ecosystem and sanitation facilities on a local level in several developing countries within sub Saharan Africa, Central Asia, Southern Asia, Eastern Asia, and South-Eastern Asia.
Indonesia alreadly launched 100-0-100 program. 100-0-100 is stands for 100% Accessible Drinking Water, 0% Slum Area, and 100% Accessible Sanitation.
In 2014, the percentage of accessible drinking water is 68%, the percentage of slum area is 12%, and the percentage of accessible sanitation is 60,91%. In several districts and slum areas, there're still societies who haven't open minded about sanitation and drinking water. They do defecation in a river and use its water (from the same river) to wash their clothes and even their cooking tools.
So, besides the investment in management of fresh water ecosystem and sanitation facilities, there should be education and counseling to build the mindset and awareness about sanitation and clean water. This is a big challenge for the goverment that within the next 5 years, 100-0-100 program must be successful.
